Helping ensure that our products are right for you, here are a selection of the most commonly asked questions regarding our light boxes and light tables.
The standard BEAM is 12,000 LUX and the higher power BEAM Pro & BEAM Lab are 21,000 LUX at the screen. Even the standard BEAM gives you enough illumination to trace through a stack of five sheets of 80gsm printer paper.
Lumens tells you how much total light is output by a device. This is useful when comparing light bulbs to illuminate a room. LUX tells you how bright a surface is such as a light box screen.
A glass screen is recommended if you are likely to be using hard tools such as scissors or knives against the surface. We offer it as an option on all light boxes but the A0 BEAM and all BEAM light tables are fitted with it as standard.
Yes! You can easily control the brightness down to 10% on all BEAM light boxes. The BEAM Pro and BEAM Lab are fitted with a display screen which shows you precisely where the brightness has been set.
No. The LED's are rated for 50,000 hours of continual usage. This works out to around 24 years at 40 hours a week. However, unlike a traditional filament or fluorescent tube lights, LED's are likely to only fade slightly past 50,000 hours. The longevity of the LEDs allows us to seal the light box improving strength and resilience to spills and dust.
